Acupuncture is a healing method that originated in China around 2,500 years ago. It is based on the idea that energy flows through the body via energy channels, known as meridians, which are connected to organs and functions in the body. These meridians transport energy (Qi) to all parts of the body.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The degree of balance on a physical, emotional and mental level determines, among other things, a person's well-being. When blockages arise in this energy circulation, due to stress, illness, emotions or lifestyle, complaints can arise.<\/p>

By stimulating the meridians via acupuncture points, acupuncture helps the body to restore its energy flow. This restores balance to the body and can reduce or even eliminate symptoms.<\/p>

The effect of acupuncture on pain is now well known, but it is also used to treat complaints such as fatigue, sleep problems, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalance and stress. See the links below for more information.<\/p>

Very thin needles are used, which are placed at specific points. In addition, we sometimes use other methods in our practice, such as laser light, magnets, heat or massage, to support the flow of energy. More information about the use of laser therapy can be found under the heading 'treatments'.<\/p>

The treatment is generally relaxing and most people find it barely painful. At our practice, we only use sterile disposable needles for regular acupuncture, in accordance with the applicable hygiene and professional standards.<\/p>

Even if you have no previous experience with acupuncture, we will gladly take the time to calmly explain what you can expect.<\/p>
