Laser therapy as a supplement to standard treatment of pneumonia in a 70-year-old patient: A case report

Here you can see laser therapy with our ML6 robot laser.

In the article “Laser therapy for elderly patients with pneumonia” Published on PubMed, a study was conducted into the potential effect of laser therapy on pneumonia.

The study investigated whether low-intensity infrared laser therapy, added to the standard treatment for pneumonia in elderly people, leads to better results. Two comparable patient groups were compared, one of which received laser therapy. The group receiving laser therapy recovered more quickly: symptoms subsided sooner and respiratory and circulatory functions improved more markedly. No side effects were observed. The researchers therefore recommend infrared laser therapy as a complementary rehabilitation method for elderly people with pneumonia.

Laser therapy was also used in the case of our very fit 70-year-old patient, in addition to the regular standard treatment for pneumonia (antibiotics). As described in the article, the patient experienced subjective positive effects from the treatment. We can see these effects objectively reflected in the decrease in CRP levels.

Data exchange

How does the National Switch Point work?

Your (GP) doctor and pharmacies can connect their computers to the National Switch Point (LSP). Through the LSP, they can share your most important medical data. Another healthcare provider can view those medical details. The video below briefly explains how the LSP works when you come to the GP surgery.
